Portrait of a missing girl, painted from the one-inch high black and white photo printed on a disposable flier.
Created using Oil Paint and palette knife. Rules for painting missing children: 1. No attempt to make art is allowed. 2. Hold missing child flier in one hand. 3. Read flier to gather any information about hair color, eye color, age at time of disappearance. 4. Begin covering surface randomly with paint. Face begins to appear. No projection device, grid, or preliminary drawing allowed. 5. Squint to see large masses of value. Layer. Scrape, Layer, glaze. 6. Repeat step 5. The painting is finished when it does not need me any longer. |
