Missing Child Portrait 47

Description

Portrait of a missing girl.

Inspired by the photo on a tiny, disposable flier.

Real oil paint, with knives.

If you fuck-up while you pray, does it matter? If you slur the words or scream the prayer, does God shut her tender ears?

I hope the answer is: no.

I have never had time to use real oil paints myself but if this is the outcome amazing! Anyway back to my point. A missing child is always a sad story to read about but when i look at this painting i feel as if the child's warmth and happiness has not died. The warmth that the intense colours give out is an amazing feeling i feel as if there maybe a hope for the girl and yet her face is fragmented as if we have simply forgotten or pushed this girl to the backs of our minds where her warm smile no longer shines. Normally painters hardly inspire me but this has my feelings all mixed up as if i should be happy but at the same time the horrible truth is that she maybe be gone forever.... it makes me feel that we should never give up hope...
